The assembly of the DESU Corridor Authority, which includes Djibouti, Ethiopia, South Sudan, and Uganda, took place in Djibouti. The meeting was attended by Ethiopia’s Customs Commission Commissioner Debele Kabeta, Minister of Transport and Logistics Dr. Alemu Sime, and other senior federal government officials. On the sidelines of the assembly, the member states signed the agreement establishing the DESU Corridor Authority. The agreement is aimed at improving regional logistics coordination and supporting the expansion of investment across the corridor countries. Officials stated that the framework will help accelerate customs services, facilitate regional trade, and ensure smoother cross-border transport flows among the participating countries. The agreement is also expected to contribute to improved port access, lower service costs, and stronger regional economic integration among Djibouti, Ethiopia, South Sudan, and Uganda.
