Ethiopian Customs Commission said in this circular letter written to all its branches, "...Since there is no Sinotruk import permit issued by the Ministry of Transport since 4th, June, 2025, they have informed [us] that they will not be able to receive any services, and if such an attempt is made, our Customs commission will report it to the Ministry."

Ministry of Transport letter to Customs Commission regarding banning the importing of SINO trucks

On this letter written to the Customs Commission of Ethiopia, the Ministry of Transport and Logistics said "due to the quality and technical defects associated with Sinotruk vehicles, which are constantly causing danger to human lives, we have stopped issuing any import permits for vehicles manufactured by Sinotruk as of 4th, June, 2025, until these quality defects are corrected by the Sinotruk company."
